Fotofestiwal was established in 2001 as one of the first photography events in Poland. It was a spontaneous initiative of students and lecturers of the Sociology Department. Since then, photography and ways of organizing cultural events have transformed. The same has been true for Fotofestiwal itself – we have a different perspective towards the program, we work differently, our viewer’s needs have changed. Still, Fotofestiwal remains a space for presenting various forms and types of photography, a forum for discussion about art and society, a motivation to search for alternative methods of discussing and exhibiting photography. But first of all, invariably, it is a place where people meet.

COSA KYOTOGRAPHIE, held in the spring in the ancient city of Kyoto,is one of the few truly international artistic events taking place in Japan. While honoring its millennium of history and tradition, Kyoto is at the same time a leading light of culture on an international scale. Valuable collections of photography and works by internationally renowned artists are exhibited in elegant, historic buildings as well as modern architectural spaces. Some shows feature the work of traditional artisans, while others highlight collaborations with the most modern technology. Circulation(s) is the festival dedicated to emerging photography in Europe. Each year, at the Centquatre-Paris and satellite sites in France and abroad, it reveals the vitality of young creation and speaks for the diversity of photographic expressions through unique exhibitions and events. A stepping stone for artists, a prospective and innovative laboratory of contemporary creativity, Circulation(s) is a must-attend photography event and a trend revelator. Since its inception in 2011, the festival has exhibited over 400 artists and attracted over 300,000 visitors with an ever-growing aspiration to be an approachable event of high standards.
Based on the values of education and transmission around the image, Circulation(s) is also a place for events and confluence that contrast the views and question the boundaries between photography and contemporary art. Images and ideas of a new generation of photographers both circulate. |

COSA FotoLimo (landlimo means border in Esperanto) is a cross-border festival of photography and visual arts whose main driving force is the concept of borders, understood in its broadest sense. The festival takes place between the towns of Cerbère, Portbou and Colera during the second half of September. With a background of five consecutive editions, the objective of the festival continues to be to promote artistic creation, education, and research around the multiple manifestations of the border, approached from fields as diverse as migration, gender, body, social fractures or landscape, always from a creative and transformative perspective. In this context, FotoLimo presents itself with the particularity of being the only European-wide cross-border photography and visual arts festival to be held simultaneously in a double location around the French-Catalan border. Through the development of an interdisciplinary high-quality program managed by a team with both a social and an artistic background, the festival integrates exhibitions, screenings, conferences and workshops by both consolidated and emerging authors, with the aim of offering a space for reflection for all kinds of audiences, and with the objective of generating new tools and perspectives in order to conceive the border as a space of bond, not of separation. |

Il tema della quinta edizione è ‘Ideale’: un esercizio di fantasia, una proiezione immaginifica in tensione verso l’assoluto senza mai raggiungerlo, ma trasformando i passi in percorso. Nella sua apparente inconsistenza, l’ideale è in grado di trasformare la società come l’esistenza dei singoli individui: per la pace si conquistano piazze, per l’amore si programmano vite o si stravolgono completamente, per la fede si lotta incessantemente, per l’uguaglianza si combattono rivoluzioni, per la famiglia si cambiano leggi per tutelarne le sue molteplici forme, per l’armonia tra la dimensione umana ed urbana si sono ideate intere città che ancora oggi vivono grazie a quei principi. Sono tutti ideali che spingono le persone a uscire da sé stesse, a dimenticarsi di sé stesse, per difendere, ammirare, amare quell’ideale e puntare in alto, cercando di fermare la vita ad un istante di felicità. COSA Ever since ancient times, touch has been considered the least deceptive of our senses and the most certain: only what we touch exists, only what touches us exists. It is when closing our eyes that we discover the importance of this perception. Touch implies a particular form of mutuality: we cannot touch without being touched and maybe, just for this reason, touching helps us connect to other humans and the surrounding elements. Through gestures such as caressing, holding hands and hugging we can communicate, comfort and support while creating and sharing mutual well-being. During the past two years, the pandemic has rendered touch taboo. The imposition of social distancing forced us to translate our interactions into digital form, and our fear of the disease has transformed our hands into something to dread and avoid. Yet, a form of touch starvation was already underway amongst people, fostered precisely by technology and social networks. This year, with an edition dedicated to touch, we want to show, through the images of national and international photographers, the importance of physical exchange and the connection between human beings. Verzasca Foto Festival 2021 brings along another important change: after seven editions in Sonogno, for the first time the festival will be held in Brione Verzasca. The meetings, lectures and night projections will take place at Castello Marcacci, while the exhibits will be displayed through the woods of the village. Once again, we want to connect photographers and visitors to the territory and the people who inhabit it. Through meetings, convivial moments and outdoor exhibitions which interact with nature and the architecture of the stone villages, visitors will be able to explore the area in synergy with the works, artists and locals, in an intimate and informal dialogue. |

COSA Landskrona Foto is the collective name for a center for the photographic image that spans areas such as exhibitions, events, photo history, photo books, residency, research, and collections. The most important element, the one we call ‘The highlight of Photography’ is our festival where the love of photography, dedication, and commitment to Landskrona as the meeting place of photography reaches its crescendo. Our vision is to be Europe’s most relevant meeting place for photography – where the established and the experimental meet and stimulate the public’s understanding of photography and its value to society. The principal for the activity is the cultural board of Landskrona Stad, which has a permanent grant in the budget for the financial funding. In addition to that, we are receiving contributions from regional, national and Nordic cultural organizations. We are also generously supported by many companies who have an interest in the activity and in Landskrona. "Photon" è nato nel 2011 ed è gestito da Documenta Foto, una associazione no-profit fondata da un gruppo di fotogiornalisti della città, motivati dalla passione per la loro professione, e che vedono nel fotogiornalismo un modo di comunicazione e uno strumento necessario per il cambiamento sociale.
